Taking the kids for a day out?
My wife and I lead quite busy lives and do not get to take our kids out (6 year old twins) on day trips or over a weekend. We also both hate driving. We were considering on planning day trips or trips which cover a weekend such as going away on Friday evening and coming back on Sunday evening, so that they do not miss school. We would ideally like to go by coach or train, to places like Alton Towers/ Blackpool etc.
What is the best way to organize this? Would that be by going to a travel agent and ask if travelling is included, what the charges are for over night stay and which hotels we can stay in? Would the hotel come in the holiday package or could we get to choose which hotel to stay in? If we could choose, what things do we need to take into consideration when choosing?
Finally, would it be cheaper to book online? Can you name any places in England which would be good for kids to visit ie. they are enjoyable and can be educational?
