Does anyone have the recipe for chocolate mud pie from school in the UK?
It was a thick gooey chocolatey thing on a pastry base and a dollop of mock cream on top
We used to have it in school in the 60's and 70's in the UK
Mom's Chocolate Pie
A chocolate pie recipe posted by Sandy, made with cocoa, butter, eggs, and milk.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups sugar
5 heaping Tablespoons of cocoa
4 cups milk
6 egg yolks
1 stick butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
baked pie shell
PREPARATION:
Mix dry ingredients together. Add eggs, butter, and vanilla. Whisk in the milk. Cook over medium heat until thick, stirring often. Pour into baked pie shell(s). Cover and chill thoroughly.
Makes: 2 pies.
